Today marks a proud milestone for Middlewood Rovers as we officially launch our dedicated men’s football section, with teams set to compete in both the County Senior League and the Rotherham Sunday League from the 2025/26 season.
This achievement fulfils a long-held ambition to create a true pathway into men’s football for our junior players, ensuring that talent developed within our youth ranks has every opportunity to progress with the club.
Richard Asquith, Club Secretary, commented:
“This is an historic day for Middlewood Rovers. We have always prided ourselves on being a development club and today’s announcement is a natural next step in our progression. It’s fantastic to see so many former youth players returning to the club as players and managers, and equally exciting to know that our current youth players will now have a clear route into senior football as part of their development journey with us. We are committed to growing not just as a club but as a community organisation - and this is just the beginning.”
Middlewood Rovers has built a strong reputation over many years for nurturing local talent and providing a safe, inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities. The addition of a men’s section further strengthens that commitment and ensures that our community club continues to thrive for generations to come.
